Pattaya for Indian travellers

Short flights, easy entry, abundant veg and Jain food, and a city built for groups and families.

Namaste, Pattaya

The short answerPattaya is one of the easiest overseas trips from India — around 4–4.5 hours to Bangkok, then about 90 minutes by road. As of 2025–2026, Indian passport holders can enter visa-free for up to 60 days (always re-check before flying). There’s plenty of vegetarian, Jain and Indian food, and four days is ideal.

For a growing number of Indian travellers, Pattaya is the first overseas beach holiday — short flights, easy entry, familiar food and a city set up for groups and families.

Getting there

Direct flights connect Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad to Bangkok (BKK / DMK). From the airport it’s about 90 minutes by road — pre-book a car (฿1,200–1,800) or take an airport bus. See getting to Pattaya.

Visa — check before you fly

Indian citizens currently get visa-exempt entry for up to 60 days for tourism. Policies change, so confirm the latest rules, passport validity and any entry forms on the official Thai immigration / embassy website before booking.

Food: veg, Jain & Indian

You will not go hungry. Pattaya has a large cluster of Indian restaurants — North and South Indian, plus several pure-vegetarian and Jain-friendly kitchens — mostly around Central Pattaya and Soi Buakhao. Many cook Jain (no onion/garlic) on request. Learn “jay” (vegan/veg) for Thai dishes too.

  • Grab a tourist SIM or eSIM (฿300–600) on arrival for Bolt and maps.

Weddings & groups
