Just south of the headland from central Pattaya, Jomtien trades neon for a long, open beach and a more residential rhythm. It’s where many couples, families and long-stay expats base themselves — close enough to the action, far enough to sleep.
The vibe. A wide beach road lined with condos, seafood spots and beach clubs; quieter at night, busier with kite-surfers and joggers by day. Sunsets here are the city’s best.
Best for. Families, couples, digital nomads and anyone staying a week or more. Plenty of Indian and international food, supermarkets and coworking nearby.
Worth knowing. Jomtien stretches a long way — “north Jomtien” near Pattaya is livelier, while the far south is sleepier. Rooms here often cost less than equivalent beachfront in Central. It’s a short baht-bus ride into the centre.
